Richard and Lee to lead Drovers’ new season
By Bryan Weaver | 26/07/2017
This season the Llandovery RFC squad will be led by the two highly respected and popular players, captain Richard Brooks and vice–captain Lee Rees.
Both players have a wealth of experience built up during their successful careers, and will lead from the front both on and off the field. Richard has 139 appearances logged for the Drovers since he joined Llandovery in 2011, and Lee broke the double-century barrier last season, and is now on 207 appearances since 2008.
One of the many successes they have shared, as shown in the picture above, was to be in the Drovers’ winning team for the fourth year running at last season’s National 7s tournament, and they will be looking, along with the rest of our squad, to ensure the Drovers stay at the top end of Welsh Club rugby.
Llandovery 26 – 28 Esher
In the first ever meeting between the two clubs, it was Esher who took the honours at Church Bank with a try and winning conversion right at the very death.

On the same day that Llandovery hosted Esher in a pre-season game Church Bank was also the venue for the Scarlets to outplay a Scarlets Premiership Select 82-12 in a 14 try romp.
