25 Club circular Nov 2nd

Nov 2 2021 25 Club circular

As Llandovery and its surrounding areas have been badly affected by the recent increase in Covid cases, it has been decided that the pre-match hospitality before the Llandovery v Carmarthen Quins game on Saturday Nov 6 be postponed.

This is in line with local postponements and cancellations involving the Llandovery Darts League, Rotary Club, Gwawr, Llandovery Choir and Clwb Cinio Cymraeg.

This Saturday’s charity concert in Llangadog has also been called off in the interests of safety.

The Covid infection rate in Llandovery is the second highest in all Carmarthenshire with 1,097.90 cases during the last 7 days per 100,000 people.

This is worryingly high and 25 Club members will hopefully understand the decision to postpone the Nov 6 pre-match hospitality.

It is sad to report that a number of 25 Club members have been affected by the virus and would not have been able to attend.

We all hope that they will soon be back to good health in the very near future.

Members can rest assured that this Saturday’s pre-match hospitality is only postponed, rather than cancelled, and that there will be an opportunity in the new year to hold an extra  pre-match function before one of the Indigo Premiership games at Church Bank.

The photo shoot with the 1st XV squad will also not take place this Saturday but it will be hopefully re-arranged when things are less turbulent.

NB The Llandovery v Carmarthen Quins Indigo Premiership Cup game will go forward, as scheduled (KO 2 30 pm).

The 25 Club first/last try scorer competition will carry on and prize winners may pick up their £50 after the game from the hands of Llandovery RFC Chairman Peter Rees.

Otherwise Gina Deering will forward any prize money in the coming week.
