25 CLUB SIX NATIONS COMPETITION UPDATE No 3, Feb 25 2024

Person with highest score out of 10 wins £200

***Ireland’s 31-7 win over Wales has put them hot favourites to win the Six Nations 2024.

They face at Twickenham England next and finish against Scotland in Dublin on March 16

From 53 entries, only 12 people have opted for Ireland to win the title – Dylan Dobbs, Dai Thomas, Rhys Davies, Paul Adams, Nigel Penn, Janet Thomas, Margaret Davies, Daniel Davies, Pem Williams, Jeff Rees, Stuart Doel and Meirion Lewis (see spreadsheet).

If Ireland do take the title, all 12 will score three points on their way to a possible full house of 10 points and the prize of £200.

***Wales’s third defeat does not augur well for their finishing position. Most entries have Wales to finish in 4th, 5th or 6th in attempt to win two competition points

***Wales were awarded another penalty try against Ireland so Alex Mann and penalty tries (ANY OTHER PLAYER) lead the top try scorer field on two tries apiece in the quest for two points.

After Round 3, there was two red cards in nine matches, France’s Jonathan Danty sent off against Italy for a high tackle. Guesses range from totals of one to 11! The correct red card forecast is worth two points.

***Wyn Jones took no part in the England v Wales game and if that continues, all those who put his appearances down as zero will earn one point

Re the tie breaker on the total number of match points scored by Wales over their five matches, Wales scoring 47 points after just three games suggests that the total after five games should now be near the 75 mark
