25 CLUB NEWSLETTER No 11 – March 26 2023

1)  TWO WINNERS OF THE FIRST/LAST TRY COMPETITION

The tenth round of the 2022-23 competition – Llandovery v Llanelli – saw two winners. Macs Page (13) scored the first try, so earning Paul Adams £50.

 The last try was a penalty try (24) so Huw S Thomas benefits to the tune of £50

 The 11th round will be the next home league game against Swansea on Saturday April 8

2)      10% DISCOUNT

 West End Cafe continues to offer all 25 Club members a discount of 10% on food and beverage purchased at the cafe. Claim your 10% on production of your new 25 Club membership card.

The Three Horse Shoes offer a 10% discount on all restaurant meals and in house drinks – again on production of the 25 Club card.

Ozzy’s Kebab & Pizza offers 10% discount on production of the card.

 

3) Members will be interested to know that betting continues on both the Welsh Premiership and Championship with bookmakers DragonBet.

For the Llanelli game, the handicap was Llandovery – 22.5  so those who supported the Drovers to win by over 22 points  points were in pocket

4)  The date of end of season dinner has had to be changed from Friday May 5 to Friday April 28 because there is a strong possibility that Llandovery will be playing in a Premiership play off the week-end May 5/6/7.

 On April 28, 25 Club members and partners/guests will enjoy a three course meal with all beer and wines included. Any member may invite an extra person at an all inclusive cost of £60.

We are hoping that the club coaches will do a Q and A session on the night and there will be a prize quiz for everyone. More details to follow.

WRU regulations state:

National League placings will be decided on the basis of League points gained during the season. Where teams have gained equal numbers of League points, the team with the most wins shall be given preference. If the number of wins is equal, the team with the fewest losses shall be given preference. If the number of losses is equal then the Club having recorded the most tries in the Season shall be given preference. If the number of tries is equal the points ‘for’ shall be divided by the points ‘against’ and the team with the highest factor shall be declared to have the better rec
