Men’s Six Nations Competition – Stop Press

STOP PRESS ADDITIONAL RED CARD MAY AFFECT RESULT OF SIX NATIONS COMPETITION

Following Monday afternoon’s communicaton from the Six Nations Committee, revealing that there has been an additional red card from Saturday’s Italy v Ireland game, the result of the SIX NATIONS FORECAST COMPETITION run by Llandovery RFC ’s 25 Club may have to be amended. (See communication below). We are waiting for confirmation from World Rugby after the hearing on Tuesday as to the final number of red cards awarded over the 15 games. We hope to confirm the competition winner soon after. Apologies for the delay.

 

Independent Disciplinary update: Giacomo Nicotera (Italy)

Italy Number 16, Giacomo Nicotera, will attend an independent disciplinary hearing after he was awarded a red card by Referee, Luke Pearce, for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.20a (A player must not charge into a ruck or maul. Charging includes any contact made without binding onto another player in the ruck or maul) in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations match between Italy and Ireland on Saturday 15th March 2025. The player will attend the hearing via video conference before an independent Disciplinary Committee consisting of Simon Thomas – Chair (Wales), joined by Val Toma (Romania) and Martyn Wood (England). The hearing will take place on Tuesday 18th March 2025 at 12pm (GMT)
