In an effort to clarify and simplify the situation involving the SRC end of season play offs, here is how Llandovery might yet reach the final of the Super Rygbi Cymru championship.
1 The Drovers next game is fixed, a quarter final tie on May 3 which pits Llandovery – the side that finished fourth in the table – against Pontypool – the side that finished fifth.
2 The winner of the Llandovery v Pontypool game will next face the winner of another quarter final (Ebbw Vale v RGC or Carmarthen Quins ) in the semi final on May 10.
That is most likely be to Ebbw Vale who would have home advantage in the semi final over both Llandovery or Pontypool, by dint of their higher finishing position in the regular table.
If , by chance, RGC or the Quins were to upset Ebbw, then Llandovery or Pontypool would have home semi-final advantage over both RGC and Quins by dint of having finished higher in the regular table.
3 If Llandovery do get to the final on May 17, it is more than likely but not certainly, they will face top of the table Cardiff or third placed Newport, either of whom would have home advantage, at the Arms Park or Rodney Parade.
