1) FIRST/LAST TRY COMPETITION

The two £50 winners of the eleventh competition of the SRC season, on the occasion of

the Llandovery v Ebbw Vale game, were Jonathan Davies who benefitted from a try by scrum half Lee Rees (9) and Robin Barlow with a late try from Osian  Davies (6).

 

The next competition will be on Saturday April 5 when Aberavon are the visitors to

Church Bank in a league game.

 

2) HOSPITALITY

Mark your note book, the end of season Gala Dinner will take place on Friday 23 May 2025. More details to follow

3) COMPETITION WINNERS

  1. i) John and Menna Davies were the winners of the quiz in the book Blwyddyn Bythgofiadwy – A Chronicle of an Unforgettable Season and their prize is an invitation for four to the all-

inclusive 25 Club Gala dinner on May 23.

 

  1. ii) The Six Nations Forecast competition had an exciting end with no fewer than eight entrants tied on 7/10, before Leon Clement was declared the winner of the £200 prize

 With Derek Jones, Janet Thomas, Sandra Clarke, Robin Barlow, Leon Clement, Barry Clement, Mike Gibbons of Tywyn and Nigel Penn of Harpenden all on 7/10, the tie breaker had to be used to find the winner.

The tie breaker involved naming the total number of points scored by Wales over the five games.

Wales scored 76 points in their five matches and predictions were as follows

Leon Clement 77 (-1), Robin Barlow 78 (-2), Janet Thomas 85 (-9), Barry Clement 67 (-9), Derek Jones 88 (-12), Sandra Clarke 91 (-15), Nigel Penn 95 (-19), Mike Gibbons 108 (-32)

4) DRAGONBET

Bookmakers Dragonbet (dragonbet.co.uk) offered odds on the Llandovery v Ebbw Vale

Game.

They gave the Steelmen a 4 points handicap start over the Drovers.

Llandovery won by an astonishing 32 points so a number of 25 Club members had pockets stuffed with notes on Thursday night.

 

5) DISCOUNT

On production of their membership card, 25 Club members can take advantage of a

10% discount when eating in at The West End Café.

The competition will run throughout the season at all home SRC league and cup games.

Competition rules

Automatic entry into a members only prize competition at all home league and cup

games.

NB The inclusion of home cup games is an extra benefit for season 2024-2025

Two prizes of £50 per game for a) first Llandovery try scorer b) last Llandovery try scorer.

Members will be allocated a club number between 1 and 25 corresponding to a

Llandovery match day shirt, plus a penalty try category (24) and no try category (25).

The no try category will come into force if no try has been scored or if there is just one

Llandovery try in the whole game.

Prize awarded immediately post match if member is in attendance at Church Bank.

Otherwise payment will be made in the week following the game.

A member will keep the same number throughout that entire season.
