A CLEMENT WINS BUT IT IS LEON AND NOT BARRY WHO WINS LLANDOVERY RFC 25 CLUB SIX NATIONS COMPETITION

The winner of the 2025 Six Nations competition which involved forecasting five statistics over the 15 games is Leon Clement and not grandfather Barry Clement as first thought. He wins the prize of £200.

Leon wins on the tie break, pipping RFC secretay Robin Barlow by one solitary point.

The announcement on Monday that there had been a post match red for Italy’s Giacomo Nicotera affected the scoring. Then, on Thursday, it was confirmed that the yellow card for France’s Peato Mauvaka, against Scotland, would not be upgraded,

The re-adjustment – 4 red cards and not 3 (worth two points) – meant that eight people ended up all tied on 7/10.

With Derek Jones, Janet Thomas, Sandra Clarke, Robin Barlow, Leon Clement, Barry Clement, Mike Gibbons of Tywyn and Nigel Penn of Harpenden all on 7/10, the tie breaker had to be used to find the winner.

The tie breaker involved naming the total number of points scored by Wales over the five games.

Wales scored 76 points in their five matches and predictions were as follows

Leon Clement 77 (-1)

Robin Barlow 78 (-2)

Janet Thomas 85 (-9)

Barry Clement 67 (-9)

Derek Jones 88 (-12)

Sandra Clarke 91 (-15)

Nigel Penn 95 (-19)

Mike Gibbons 108 (-32)
