REX JONES WINS LLANDOVERY RFC RUGBY WORLD CUP FORECAST COMPETITION

Former Llandovery RFC committee man Rex Jones, now living in Dolau Bran, took the £150 prize in the Rugby World Cup forecast competition.

Rex, the former manager of Cynghordy Brickworks, served on the club committee for over 40 years and was the driving force behind the hugely popular Llandovery Carnival

Out of the 75 entries, Rex’s forecast was the most accurate.

“I studied the form closely” winked Rex “ and had two shots at the competition with the choice of England getting third spot the key to the win.”

He named winner South Africa, runners up New Zealand and third placed England in the exact order – the only person to do so – and pipped Stuart Doel to the prize.
